Maintaining a printer is something that requires patience and special attention. Do not let, because of our ignorance, work be hampered because the printer is stuck and cannot print. This time I will share the experience of Canon MP 287 printer problems that are stuck unable to print with error code E 16.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
If you experience the Canon MP 287 printer blinking alarm light and color (Color Ink) or black (Black Ink) indicator light and the caption on the LCD panel shows E 16, it means that one or both cartridges, both color and black, need to be reset (run out).
<\/a>This usually happens when the cartridge has just been refilled or a new cartridge replaced. Sometimes it also appears suddenly when the printer is in use. An indication of this problem is that a warning will appear on the computer screen as below:<\/div>\n

The following ink may have run out<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
(Color\/Black)<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
The function for detecting the remaining ink level will be disabled since the ink level cannot be correctly detected.<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
If you want to continue printing without this function, press the printer's Stop\/Reset button for at least 5 seconds.<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
Canon recommended to use new genuine Canon cartridge in order to obtain optimum qualities<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
Please be advised that Canon shall not be liable for any malfunction or trouble caused by continuation of printing under the ink out condition.<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n

How to deal with it: <\/div>\n

  1. In accordance with the command, press the Stop\/Reset button for approximately 5 seconds<\/li>\n
  2. If it still doesn't work use this method. <\/li>\n
      \n
    1. If the color cartridge is the problem (marked Alarm Light and Color Ink blinking) <\/i>Press the STOP\/RESET button together with the COLOR\/START button for about (5-15 sec) until the LCD panel rotates, then release them both.<\/li>\n
    2. If the black cartridge is the problem (marked Alarm Light and Black Ink blinking) <\/i>Press the STOP\/RESET button together with the BLACK\/START button for about (5-15 sec) until the LCD panel rotates, then release them both.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ol>\n
