New Facilities and Features in Sony Vegas Pro 14, now Magix Vegas Pro 14
Vegas Pro 14 was officially released on September 20, 2016, after 2 years from the previous version, Sony Vegas Pro 13 which was released on April 13, 2014. There is something different in this version 14, where Sony Vegas Pro 14 has changed its name to MAGIX Vegas Pro 14. This name change occurred because on May 20, 2016 Sony Creative Software has officially sold the majority of its products to MAGIX Software GmbH. The new version certainly has improvements and some new features/facilities in this version of MAGIX Vegas Pro 14. Most notable is the support for 4K video, which the previous version did not have. Several bug fixes that were found in the previous version have been fixed. Already supports RED Camera and various other features.
With innovative new features and many important improvements, VEGAS Pro 14 provides a more reliable, stable and efficient editing experience than previous versions. With HEVC and Native ProRes support, HD-class video tools for use in 4K and UHD projects, and enhanced industry-wide hardware support, VEGAS Pro 14 offers powerful functions and advanced features for high-end professional video and film production.
New Facilities and Features in VEGAS Pro 14
HEVC
HEVC/H.265 technology allows users to compress videos more than ever before with much greater quality. This makes it possible to create high-quality streams and lower file storage costs for content owners.
Supports Native ProRes
To eliminate reliance on problematic third-party technologies, VEGAS Pro 14 includes strong native support for ProRes files. Magix VEGAS Pro technology completely preserves 10-bit ProRes files, thus avoiding any loss in video quality.
HFR Support
Thanks to its High Frame Rates (HFR) support, VEGAS Pro 14 allows professionals to use modern cameras to maximize their full potential.
Smart Upscale
With clever new high-end technology, HD footage can be upscaled for 4K video and UHD resolution while maintaining high quality. In this way, users can reuse their extensive collection of HD footage for modern 4K and UHD projects.
Smart Zoom
The Smart Zoom feature makes it possible to reframe shots in post-production without loss of quality. Keyframing techniques allow editors to create camera zoom effects that are not recorded directly during shooting while maintaining the quality and integrity of the shot. So we can create a Zoom-in Zoom-out effect with this facility, even though we did not take the original video using the zoom facility on the camera.
Hover Scrub
The new Hover Scrub tool makes it faster and easier to access footage in the Trimmer window and mark In and Out points in media files. This makes the editing process faster and easier.
Vignette Video Effect
This new plug-in allows users to add Vignette effects to their video clips. This makes it possible to change the video clip in order to create different emotional reactions
Updated Hardware Support
By enhancing support for the latest technologies such as RED and Panasonic cameras as well as AJA and Blackmagic hardware designs, users can edit footage from a wider range of cameras and enjoy greater flexibility in their video and movie projects.
Clip Velocity Limit Increase
Users can now set the desired video velocity to a maximum of 1,000% from the normal speed (up from the previous 300%), so the video motion speed can be increased by 10 times. When combined with the Property Rate setting on a clip, it will allow fast motion of up to 40 times the normal speed.
