I made this article because a few days ago a friend of mine was deceived by a Facebook account that used a fake profile picture. The ease of copying and pasting and downloading images from the internet, makes it easy for fraudsters to take pictures on the internet and make the image their identity. This time we will utilize the image search facility from the Google search engine to find out whether the photo really belongs to the account or not.

In addition to searching using text, words or sentences, Google also provides search facilities using images. So by uploading an image file or pasting a specific image link address, Google will search for images that are the same or similar to the image. But this time we will use a simpler way to search for images on Google. Here are the steps

  •  Right-click the photo of the Facebook profile we want to search, select Search Google for this image

This is how to find out the authenticity of a photo from someone's Facebook profile. but there are several things to consider analyzing:
  1. Check other photos from the account, whether there are many photos with the same face in different poses. If the photo is only one or a few, it is suspicious. However, if there are many photos with the same face in different poses, it could be that the account owns the original photo that was copied and pasted on many sites.
  2. also check the interaction with the friends of the account
  3. check google search results, and analyze the images found on different sites.
