Pokemon Go Tutorial (Part 6):Using Stardust and Candy to Power Up Pokemon
To strengthen pokemon and win in every battle (battle) we need to power up pokemon. Power up pokemon can be done using stardust and candy. When you get Stardust and Candy, you will get the ability to Power Up the Pokemon you have captured by increasing their CP and HP. Please note that Combat Power is the attack power of Pokemon which is measured in units of Combat Power. Combat Power determines performance in battle. The higher the Combat Power, the better your performance in battle will be. HP (Hit Points) is the health of Pokemon measured in units of Hit Points (HP).
The way to obtain Stardust and Candy is by catching Pokemon, hatching eggs, or transferring Pokemon to the Professor.
- Candy specific to each Pokemon Evolution family. For example, you get Bulbasaur candies by catching, hatching, or transferring every Pokemon in the Bulbasaur family (Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur). You need Bulbasaur Candy to Power Up Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, or Venusaur. However, you cannot use the Bubasaur candy to power up Pikachu or other Pokemon.
- Stardust can be used to Power Up every Pokémon in your collection. For example, if you get Stardust from catching Meowth, you can use the Stardust to Power Up Ratata, Bulbasaur, Pikachu, etc. By doing Power Up, the CP (Combat Power) and HP (Health Point) of your Pokemon will increase. The greater the CP, the stronger the Pokemon. You earn Stardust every time you capture, hatch, or transfer a Pokemon of any species.
How to Power Up Pokémon:
- On the Map, select Main Menu
- Then select Pokémon
- Choose Pokemon Power Up from Pokémon list
- In Pokémon summary, select Power Up
NoteYou will not be able to Power Up your Pokémon until you have enough Candy and Stardust. You can see how much Candy and Stardust is required to Power Up in the Pokémon summary.
