Solve WhatsApp not showing contact name after MIUI upgrade
My friend complained when his WhatsApp could not display the name of a contact that had been saved in the phonebook. This happened after he upgraded the latest version of MIUI. Immediately I thought of the case some time ago when Video Call on my sister's Line could not be used. The problem is almost the same as the article I wrote some time ago "Solve Line can't Video Call on Xiaomi (MIUI)". I assume this problem occurs because the security facility on MIUI does not allow the WhatsApp application to access contacts. And it's true, after I fiddle with the settings the contact name on WhatsApp can reappear.
How to Set Security on WhatsApp so that it can display Contact names:
- Open Settings
- Choose Licensing, then three more options appear, Auto Start, Licensing and Install via USB. Choose Licensing
- After that, the Apps and Licenses option appears on the top menu, select Licensing more
- Select Calls and Contacts
- Select Read Your Contacts
- A list of applications that use access rights to read contacts will appear. If it is true that the problem is due to this setting, then next to the WhatsApp icon there is a red cross. Select WhatsApp, then change the settings to Accept
