Additional software is needed to read linux partitions in Windows. One of them uses Linux Reader.
Linux Reader is a software developed by DiskInternals Research, a company located in Seattle, United States that develops applications for data recovery. Most of the applications developed by this company are paid applications, but Linux Reader is licensed as freeware.

Linux Reader has the ability to read Ext2/Ext3/Ext4, HFS and ReiserFS file systems. The advantage, or perhaps the disadvantage of Linux Reader is that this program is Read-Only, it can only read files in the Linux partition, it is not allowed to edit or change the contents of files in the Linux partition. If you want to modify files from the Linux partition, there is a facility to copy the files to the Windows partition first. This is intended to keep the files in Linux safe. On the other hand, it is an advantage, but on the other hand it is also a disadvantage, because we cannot directly install applications whose masters are on the linux partition. For image files, a preview of the image files is provided.
