How to Connect Xiaomi Yi to Computer/PC (Live View via Computer/PC)
Xiaomi Yi is an affordable action camera with excellent image quality. However, this tiny little camera is not equipped with an LCD to shoot and view images. Although in the absence of the LCD, the battery life becomes longer, but this is also an obstacle in determining the shooting angle. So we have to guess the angle of taking pictures if we are not connected to a cellphone for live view. In addition to live view using a cellphone, with third-party applications it turns out that Xiaomi Yi can also live view using a computer / PC. By using a computer, of course, the image display becomes larger than using an HP.
Okay, let's go straight to how to connect xiaomi yi to computer /PC.
To be able to live view via PC, we need 2 software:
- Xiaomi Yi control and Configuration GUI (Xiaomi_Yi-master.zip)
- VLC Player
YI Control and Configuration GUI software controls the connection and configuration of Xiaomi yi, a kind of yi cam application on android, while VLC Player serves as an image preview.
- Download both software above, Xiaomi Yi Control and Configuration GUI and VLC Player
- Install VLC Player first, For Xiaomi Yi Control and Configuration GUI does not need to be installed because it is portable (just extract it)
- Turn on Xiaomi Yi Camera
- Then Turn on Xiaomi Yi Wifi
- Connect Xiaomi Yi Wifi to PC, enter default password if it has not been changed 1234567890
- Once connected extract Xiaomi_Yi-master.zip and open the CC.exe file
- Then click Connect C&C
- After success, a control window will appear and if you click Live View, it will automatically open the VLC Player software to display a preview.
The control manager functions the same as the Yi Action application on Android to control and configure Xiaomi Yi. On the Menu Control we can take pictures, videos or just Live View and set the Zoom Level. On the Menu Configure We can make settings for Xiaomi Yi, be it changing the quality ratio and image resolution size, changing the default password and other configurations.
